Major Projects
All of our proposed major projects for improving the railway
will pay Britain back by generating significant benefits. We’re
bringing passengers more services, with more seats. On major
projects like Thameslink and Reading, platforms will be lengthened
for longer trains and stations will be improved. Never before
has the network seen redevelopment of this size and scale. From the
smallest station improvements – like expanding disabled access – to
replacing hundreds of miles of track and creating whole new routes,
this is one of the most exciting periods in the history of the
railway.
