Gosport

HMS Sultan is situated in Gosport –in Hampshire, South East England. Steeped in naval and marine history, the sea is still very much at the heart of life within the town. On the extensive waterfront you’ll find sailing, windsurfing, jet skis and rib rides. At the harbour you can even take a boat trip across the Solent – a strip of water that is the link to the Isle of Wight.

Gosport is right next to the city of Portsmouth – one of the most popular waterfront cities in the UK. It has everything you’d expect from a lively English urban town, with bars, shops, clubs and arts and sport facilities. But its coastal location is a great benefit. You can get a fast ferry service to the Isle of Wight, and soak up some of the local history and wildlife. During the summer months the city is buzzing with tourism and seaside activities. And it’s even home to the 2008 FA Cup winners – Portsmouth FC.
