HMS Sultan
HMS Sultan is the home of Royal Naval School of Marine
Engineering (RNSME) and the Royal Naval Air Engineering and
Survival School (RNAESS). Using the most modern training facilities
and procedures, the school prepares men and women to operate and
maintain the extensive and highly sophisticated range of machinery
and equipment found in Royal Navy ships, submarines and
aircraft.
HMS Sultan is the largest of the Royal Navy's training
establishments, when it’s at full capacity there are around 3,000
Service and civilian personnel. The site houses administration,
training and Officers’ facilities, as well as living accommodation
and recreational amenities. There’s also a bank and post office,
shops, bars and clubs. Primary medical and dental care are
available in well equipped surgeries, as well as an occupational
health service and an on-site Chaplaincy.
Sultan boasts excellent leisure and entertainment facilities.
There’s a new Sports and Recreation Centre and Astro Turf
all-weather pitch. And there’s also extensive playing fields,
indoor and outdoor courts, water sports and outdoor pursuits
facilities, so you’ll definitely find something to keep you busy on
your days off.
