Apprenticeship profiles

Alex Wise

Alex reveals the best thing about the scheme:

Living and learning on the Navy base during my first year really helped me go out into the world standing on my own feet. You’re given lots of support, but also freedom – and it’s great living with 200 other apprentices who are around your age. It was brilliant to meet all these new people and create friendships that will last for the rest of my life.

I’m now gaining experience out on the track with teams in our depot, and I have the opportunity to learn back at Gosport every term for two weeks. This is a great chance to upgrade my knowledge and meet up with all my mates from the first year. To sum up, you gain great experiences and skills, and build brilliant friendships.
