Area Support Analyst [Control Framework]

About Shared Services

Our Shared Services team deliver specialist processes that have a direct impact on the performance of Network Rail, our customers and suppliers. These services include payroll, accounts, finance, controls and compliance, reporting, recruitment and helpdesk support.

What will you be doing?

You’ll join a team that supports the wider operation, you will work with different teams within Shared Service; this is a fantastic opportunity to understand how these teams operate and deliver services to internal and external customers.

You will be responsible for specific areas of the business working with Team Mangers to identify risks within the processes. You’ll play a crucial role in our continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process changes and recommending control enhancements to mitigate risk. You will test and monitor these controls and perform remediation work if an alternative solution is required.

You will update and maintain trackers, the control library and risk registers as well as producing data and reports.

You will also perform ad-hoc tasks for example, carrying out investigations to establish root-causes for control failures. You will also facilitate meetings; training, knowledge sharing and updating your stakeholders presenting reports at senior stakeholder meetings.

Main Responsibility

  • Implement robust processes and controls - Risk mitigation through process change and control enhancement.
  • Support process improvement
  • Produce matrix reports that you will present at periodic meetings
  • Carry out testing of controls and conduct remediation work if required
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders building strong working relationships

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of working in a Shared Services centre (supporting multiple business areas)
  • Intermediate excel skills (data manipulation, filters, formula, pivot tables, V-lookups and referencing data from one workbook to another)
  • Confident communicator

Package Description

Role Title: Area Support Analyst [Control Framework]

Salary range: Band 5. £25,000 - £28,000

Contract Type: 12-month secondment / Fixed Term Contract 

Location: Square One | 4 Travis Street | Manchester M1 2NY
