Senior Finance Business Partner

Main Responsibility

As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will join our Route Services finance team and become an integral member of our business senior leadership team. You will proactively identify, plan, and meet the finance needs of the business, working closely with other members of the wider finance team. Your role will involve positively challenging senior leaders, budgets, and business activities to ensure the best outcomes are delivered.

We are currently looking to fill the following vacancies:

  1. Strategic Planning and Enabled Efficiency: Support Route Services in developing financially robust, long-term business plans, and embed associated efficiencies and benefits across the business.
  2. Strategic Programme Finance & Commercial Support: Business partner our major change programmes, providing dedicated finance support, commercial analysis, and advice on key decisions.
  3. FP&A: Lead process improvement workstreams, challenge efficiencies, and drive consistency across our function while liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Supply Chain Operations (SCO): Provide opex finance support to our SCO function, focusing on off-charging SCO operational services and route-focused reporting.
  5. Engineering Services: Drive business performance by providing opex reporting, headcount forecasting, and analysis of key cost drivers.
  6. IT & Telecoms Services: Support the integration of IT and Telecoms, consolidate opex and headcount reporting, and contribute to improvement workstreams.
  7. RS HQ: Business partner our central teams (Finance, HR, Safety, and Assurance) with opex accounting, ad hoc analysis, workstream improvement, and standardisation activities.

  • Membership (or working towards membership) of a relevant accounting body (CIMA/ACCA/ICAEW) or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills at all levels.
  • Successful relevant experience in managing business risks, financial control, and forward planning.
  • Demonstrable record of budget management, governance, and interpreting commercial and financial landscapes.
  • Strong evaluation and decision-making skills in a complex financial environment.
  • Excellent technical financial and accounting knowledge applicable in a commercial environment.
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent demonstrable experience in finance.

 

It would be great but not essential if you have; full membership of relevant post graduate professional body (CIMA/ACCA/ICAEW), experience of Oracle based systems, experience within multiple finance disciplines, knowledge and technical expertise of Government accounting and relevant financial governance, and understanding of project management principles and experience of managing complex projects to successful conclusion.

Band & Salary: 3C £55,596 - £62,546
