Summer Placement Development team

Job Introduction

We are delighted to announce that we are looking to appoint a Summer Graduate on the Intelligence Infrastructure (II) programme. II is a 5-year (>£300 million pound) transformation programme that will address whole life management of Network Rails assets. It seeks to exploit the investment that has already been made in asset management systems and data capture methods and provide decision makers and end users with actionable intelligence to prioritise work that is most critical to the operation of the railway.

The successful candidate will be involved with the delivery of projects and activities within the II R and D and Workstreams portfolio. You will be involved with multiple projects including Application Development and Enhancement, IT Infrastructure, and Research and Development modelling and support the delivery of data science and analytics outputs.

Main Responsibility

This is an exciting opportunity for you to work on a major transformation programme within Network Rail.

 

Day to day accountabilities:

  • Provide a professional, consistent and effective analytics service
  • Lead small data analysis projects
  • Establish, build and maintain relationships with key team members
  • Support development team members
  • Take accountability for project finances, change control and progress reporting
  • Develop the skills and expertise of junior staff through mentoring, support and guidance
  • Promote company processes and policies, and ensuring adherence to NR values
  • Manage key II project stakeholders and support the business change and workstream resources with relationship management.

 

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge in analytics
  • Knowledge and application of Code writing and data analysis
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to drive value from data
  • Understanding of statistical models and machine learning

Package Description

Vacancy Type: Full-time but flexible working patterns will be considered.

Duration: 10 weeks

Location:  Waterloo/Home working

Closing date: 27 May 2022             

Salary: 17,000 per annum pro rata.
