Systems Support Administrator

About Network Rail Training

We believe that excellent training and development is essential to our success. Skills, operations and leadership training – We have dedicated route and regional teams to manage local training plans. Our network of qualified trainers use their hands-on rail experience to deliver industry leading skills, operations and leadership training locally and through our dedicated development centres.

What will you be doing?

You will deal with queries in relation to our learning management systems and platforms that are used by circa 80,000 internal & external customers across the organisation. You will investigate queries, analyse data and perform trouble shooting activities to find root causes and resolve issues.

The queries will be varied, they could be in relation to our e-learning, training toolkit, question tools, Oracle learning management system, competency management or in relation to data issue or systems access and navigation. You will also assist with configuring courses, managing the publication of training and assessment materials and supporting with more complex queries.

Main Responsibility

  • Query management – investigation, analysis and resolution
  • Trouble shooting, data analysis and root cause analysis – building up your knowledge to become an SME
  • Update process guidelines
  • Works towards KPI’s and SLA’s

The Ideal Candidate

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Experience managing and resolving queries
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Data base management (Oracle / other learning management system)
  • Great attention to detail
  • Problem resolution experience with the ability to use initiative (building and transferring knowledge)
  • Good team player – working with the team to resolve queries and share knowledge

What could set you apart

  • Moodle & Oracle experience
  • Pervious database administration exp
  • Learning Management Systems / competency system experience
  • IT problem solver (understanding of how integrated systems communicate)

Package Description

Role Title: Systems Support Administrator

Salary range: Band 5 £24,000 - £28,000

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: The Quadrant, Elder Gate, Milton Keynes, MK9 1EN
