  • Develop the proficiency of employees with the knowledge, practical skill, motivation and subsequent required confidence to operate/maintain** the new equipment and technology being introduced within Network Rail and the wider railway industry so that the systems and equipment concerned can be effectively operated/maintained** and the associated business benefits realised.
  • Deliver technical and non-technical skills training and assessment associated with industry change, incorporating as may be appropriate, new ways of working in order to improve safety, performance and engagement so that business objectives can be realised and continuous improvement can be effected for the benefit of the client, business unit and organisation.
  • Provide effective analysis, assessment and evaluation of delegate learning and optimise training delivery methods using a blended learning approach so that the delivery of learning and assessment processes are optimised for the benefit of the learners and business unit concerned.
  • Maintain a good knowledge of digital railway operating systems and products and effectively contribute technical and training specialist guidance to stakeholder groups, including steering and working groups, to support the realisation of programme benefits.
  • Conduct training, including train-the-trainer events, ensuring a seamless transition from project delivery into ‘business as usual’ so that required skill-sets are embedded within the business units concerned.
  • Provide technical and training (operations) specialist support for the completion of learning-needs-analysis, learning design, learning development and learning evaluation so that key stages of the learning process are appropriately supported with technical and training expertise and the solutions developed have embraced all necessary technical considerations.

  •  Actively contribute to related work streams to support the introduction of business initiatives and programmes and the definition and presentation of technical training/briefings and associated cascades so that key messages are identified, incorporated and effectively communicated.
  • Undertake any technical and training specialist (operations) related activity reasonably requested by the line manager but not explicitly embraced by the foregoing, provided that such activity is not at variance with the job-holder’s knowledge, qualifications, experience or other such relevant consideration so that the job holder can apply relevant skills to provide business benefit and/or individual challenge, development and variety
