Performance & Value Analyst

Main Responsibility

Lead the analysis and reporting of Digital, Data & Technology Strategic Planning data to provide intelligence and insight across multiple stakeholder forums.  

What will you be doing?

  • Provide a comprehensive, high quality management information, analysis and reporting service across Digital, Data & Technology Strategic Planning capabilities which demonstrates the value created through IT investment to IT Executive, customers and other stakeholder groups.
  • Lead the management, development and evolution of methods, processes, tools and metrics which facilitates effective analysis and reporting of Strategic Planning and accompanying Investment data.
  • Provide guidance and expertise to stakeholders on strategic planning data and reporting systems.
  • Through analysis of planning and investment performance information, augmented by research of best practice, identify opportunities for improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of Digital Data & Technology ’Strategic Planning and delivery processes.
  • Engage across Network Rail to identify total Network Rail investment in Information technology. Analyse and report management information which enables the organisation to obtain the best value from overall technology spend.
  • Assist in the development of Digital, Data & Technology input into Network Rail’s strategic business plan which is reflective of Network Rail strategy, priorities and drivers, optimally balanced given budgetary and resource constraints, and in line with functional, corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the operation of Digital, Data & Technology governed forums which enable oversight of the Digital Data & Technology  Strategic Plan, including developing business performance packs for Investment Portfolio Board, Executive Customer IT Board, Quarterly Business Plan Reviews and other forums.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Demonstrable expertise in the usage of data analytics and decision-support tools.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing concepts into analysis tools and techniques.
  • Demonstrable experience of assimilating complex and multiple sources of information to provide insight.
  • Structured and analytical thinker.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work with and influence people at all levels of the function and wider business.

Desirable

  • Experience operating in an Information Technology environment.
  • Experience in development of reports for Exec / Board audience.
  • Experience of KPI / metric definition.
  • Relevant professional or academic qualifications.

Package Description

Vacancy type:  Permanent, 35 hours per week, Hybrid working of 2/3 days in the office. We welcome applications from those seeking flexible or part time hours.

Location: The Quadrant, Milton Keynes

Band & Salary: Band 4C (£43,588 - £49,037)
