Main Responsibility

To manage the development and implementation of the Telecoms Operations renewal and enhancement portfolio. Identifying funding sources and developing technical requirements, acceptance criteria and benefits realisation.

  • Manage the development and communication of renewals strategies and the associated prioritised work bank to quantify, evaluate and mitigate programme delivery risk.
  • Manage the development and specification of the Telecoms Operations portfolio of renewals to facilitate the effective transition of requirements from the client to the appropriate delivery organisation.
  • Manage the specification of the Telecoms Operations portfolio of works, including design approval and the specific stakeholder requirements for acceptance of the equipment and associated services into asset ownership, operations, and maintenance.
  • Manage the interest of the client, customers, and stakeholders throughout the entirety of the renewals cycle to provide a focal point for escalation, manage change and drive benefit realisation.
  • Lead the review and interrogate client remits and challenge plans to confirm their overall viability.  Work with internal and external stakeholders to establish a scope which optimises client requirements, value for money, network availability and capacity for future development and whole life cost.
  • Manage the conversion of the client remit into an agreed project requirement specification to support the development of the initial project plan and budget; working with the project manager to specify how the project portfolio is going to be delivered, expected milestones, and associated timescales, resource requirements, risks & issues, and funding needs/sources.
  • Manage business case and investment paper creation for Telecoms Operations project portfolios and provide clear rationale and justification for the cost.  Support the periodic reviews with the associated delivery organisations to drive accountability with project and programme managers for cost, time and scope parameters in line with the Client requirements.  Communicate progress status against defined milestones and expectations to stakeholders putting contingency measures in place if required and presenting any required scope changes to the client for approval.
  • Drive compliance with the requirements of investment regulations, other corporate governance and delivery methodologies (GRIP/PACE).
  • Manage the assignment of key duties delegated by the Client as detailed within the Construction Design Management (CDM) Regulations for the projects allocated.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Experience of dealing with project renewals and liaising with people at all levels
  • Ability to articulate complex business problems into manageable work packages and produce synthesised logical solutions
  • Proven ability to write coherently, conveying report / investment information in a concise manner
  • Commercially astute, persuasive, and customer focused
  • Proven influencing and negotiating skills
  • Experience of leading a successful team

Desirable

  • Experience in a commercial or delivery environment

Package Description

Vacancy type:  Permanent, 35 hours per week, Hybrid working of 2/3 days in the office. We welcome applications from those seeking flexible or part time hours.
