Service Billing Analyst

You’ll be part of the Contract & Supplier Management team ensuring collectively that our commercial relationships are fair, cost-effective and support the safe running of telecoms services on the railway. You will focus on generating efficiencies by gathering and interpreting cost and invoice data, creating commercial insight and forwarding recommendations for action.

Main Responsibility

  • Lead the correction and analysis of anomalies within the billing systems for IM suppliers. Identify areas that cause billing anomalies and devise and implement solutions and corrective action where necessary.
  • Manage the billing systems processes, producing information on charge and transfer files as required, reconciling between billing systems.
  • Approve accounts for payments in accordance with contract terms and check invoice details correspond to the respective purchase order
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding payment queries and charges for services delivered.
  • Report to the IM operational cost centre owners, highlighting service activity, relevant spend and associated variances.
  • Provide support data and advice to assist with disputes.
  • Provide contract management, supplier engagement and forecast of spend for a specific group of supplier contracts (SISS)
  • Manage and track the cessation process for supplier circuits when required

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Experience of reconciling accounts
  • Knowledge of accounts payable routines
  • Thorough and detailed approach and analytical skills
  • Ability to marry operational activity against financial spend

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the IM operating environment
  • Comfortable dealing with suppliers at all levels
  • Confident dealing with internal stakeholders and other Network Rail functions
  • An understanding of IT and telecoms products

Package Description

Vacancy type:  Permanent, 35 hours per week, Hybrid working of 2/3 days in the office. We welcome applications from those seeking flexible or part time hours.
